These arrived much sooner than promised and work well. It took a little searching to figure out how to use them for my application, which was a simple blocked beam detector using an Arduino board.

In case anyone has a similar application, I found I needed a 100 Ohm resistor in series with the diode to get sufficient output.

The emitter was harder to figure out. With the emitter facing toward you, the pin on the right goes to +5V, the center pin goes to ground, and the left pin goes to the digital input.
